IFEZ Activities Leading the Way toward Innovative Growth


IFEZ has been working hard to develop Incheon as a top 10 global city through its diverse activities to attract investment. Here are some such activities to help lead the way toward innovative growth.

01. The IFEZA Successfully Holds ‘CES 2025 Exhibitor Meeting’



On February 12, 2025, the IFEZA (led by Commissioner Yun Won Sok) held its “CES 2025 Exhibitor Meeting” at Incheon Startup Park to share its achievements and discuss methods to support exhibitors. The meeting was attended by about 50 companies and officials from Incheon who participated in CES 2025. During the event, a review was conducted on the performances of various CES 2025 participants, along with a presentation of exhibitors’ best practices and sharing achievements and guidance on support programs for CES 2026. FutureSense and em CT were selected as best practice presenters, and they shared their achievements in signing four MOUs and getting global partners. In total, 41 local companies participated in CES 2025, resulting in 1,031 business consultations, with results worth a total of approximately $470 million, and 12 companies signed 14 MOUs. Speaking about the meeting, Commissioner Yun said, “We will more strategically push forward support programs for CES 2026 and will strengthen tailored support for entering the global market.” 








02.  IFEZ, Playing a Central Role in the World-Class City of Incheon, Fosters Communication with Citizens


On February 16, the IFEZA (led by Commissioner Yun Won Sok) held a municipal sharing session on policies for becoming a top 10 global city at Michu Hall Tower, chaired by Incheon Mayor Yoo Jeong Bok. The event was held in collaboration with the Global City Bureau, the Urban Planning Bureau, and Incheon Urban Development Corporation (IUDC), and it provided an opportunity to share related policies with citizens. In addition, policy trends and major projects for 2025 were announced under the theme of “IFEZ leaping ahead as a global business innovation hub.” The IFEZA will focus on setting up the foundation for future growth by establishing international schools and a global campus to foster talented global citizens, building an innovative ecosystem for startups, and expanding bio clusters. It also plans to strengthen K-culture content-based tourism and advanced medical infrastructure to become a city specializing in tourism and medical care. During the session, Mayor Yoo said, “This will be the year for IFEZ to serve as a new growth engine for the Korean economy, propelling Incheon into its place as a top 10 global city.”








03. The IFEZA Supports Demonstration and Commercialization for Startups in Conjunction with DB Insurance


The IFEZA (led by Commissioner Yun Won Sok) has established a cooperative system in conjunction with Incheon Techno Park and DB Insurance Co., Ltd., to foster startups in the InsurTech sector. On February 25, in order to discover and foster innovative startups in smart InsurTech, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed at Incheon Startup Park. This MOU is part of the empirical program “TRYOUT,” hosted by IFEZ and operated by Incheon TP, which supports startups’ demonstration and early commercialization. In particular, DB Insurance will provide various data and collaborate on AI-based services, automatic insurance plans, and use of AI in customer helplines. This will provide startups with the opportunity to demonstrate and commercialize their technologies, and DB Insurance will benefit from solutions for innovation.

04. The IFEZA Takes Its ‘First Step’ toward Creating a Global Floriculture Asia Hub


The IFEZA (led by Commissioner Yun Won Sok) held a seminar on strategies for creating a global floriculture Asia hub within Cheongna International City and the southern part of Ganghwa. At the seminar held on February 16, Garden Center Advice, a Dutch company, submitted a letter of intent (LOI), expressing its intention to build a partnership. The IFEZA is stepping up with the project, emphasizing the locational advantages of the Cheongna Flower Complex site. Issues discussed at the seminar included the future of agriculture, the establishment of a floral complex hub, technology trends in the landscape industry, and strategies for expanding Korean floral exports. Commissioner Yun Won Sok said, “Incheon has the optimal location for flower distribution, as well as a production hub using smart farming.” He also added, “We will foster the flower industry, incorporating advanced technology to form a future growth engine.”








05. <2025 Future Mobility Global Forum> Forum Co-Hosted by the Korea Stanford Center and Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) in the Netherlands


The IFEZA (led by Commissioner Yun Won Sok) held the “Future Mobility Global Forum” at Songdo Convensia on January 20. The forum, which ran until January 24, was co-hosted by the Korea Stanford Center and Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) in the Netherlands. It was attended by about 100 domestic and foreign guests, including professors from TU Delft, officials from the Embassy of the Netherlands, and officials from the Korea Automotive Technology Institute (KATECH). During the forum, issues such as expanding research cooperation between Korea and the Netherlands and sustainable smart city design were discussed on the topic of “The Impact of Mobility on Cities and Society.” In particular, discussions are underway regarding signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) among the Korea Stanford Center, Delft University of Technology, Yonsei University, and the Korea Automotive Technology Institute. In addition, Horizon Europe and the Korea-European Research Center also joined the forum for gathering global mobility research funds and feasible projects.








06. The City of Incheon to Become a Global Tourist City by Attracting World-Class Media Art Museum ‘Super Blue’


Incheon Metropolitan City is taking a leap toward becoming a global tourist city by attracting a world-class media art museum, “Super Blue Korea.” The city (under Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok) announced on February 22nd that it had received a letter of intent from Daniel Dolan, CEO of Super Blue (in Washington D.C., USA), to host “Super Blue Korea” in Incheon. “Super Blue” is the immersive exhibition hall established by Face, a world-class gallery based in New York, which has become a tourist attraction with 500,000 visitors a year since its opening in Miami in 2020. “Super Blue Korea” in Incheon will become the first such hall in Asia, and Golden Harbor in Songdo International City is being considered as a possible location. Speaking on the topic, Mayor Yoo said, “If ‘Super Blue’ is built in Incheon, it will be an important tourism resource to keep transit tourists in Incheon for longer periods.”








07. ‘One Step Closer to a Smart City that Citizens Can Experience’ The IFEZA Launches the Traffic Safety App Using a Self-Communication Network


The IFEZA (led by Commissioner Yun Won Sok) announced that it had completed development of the “Smart Traffic Safety Alert Songdo” app, which provides real-time traffic and safety information to pedestrians and drivers, along with the establishment of communication infrastructure. With this, full-scale operation of the service has been launched. At the completion briefing session held on February 4, the main functions of the app and the results of the demonstration were shared, along with a discussion on its sustainability. This project, which provides real-time traffic information and possible hazards to pedestrians and drivers through their mobile phones using vehicle-to-network (V2N) communication technology, was led by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Information Society Agency (NIA) and carried out by the IFEZA and LG Electronics. It has been demonstrated by installing object-recognition-based CCTV and ultra-wideband (UWB) receivers at three intersections near POSCO High School.








08. The IFEZA Signs an MOU on the Pilot Project for the K-Bio Lab Hub


The IFEZA (led by Commissioner Yun Won Sok) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Korea Technology & Information Promotion Agency for SMEs (TIPA) on February 13 at Songdo G Tower to push forward with the pilot project for the K-Bio Lab Hub. The signing ceremony was attended by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, the K-Bio Lab Hub Project Promotion Team, and the Incheon Center for Creative Economy and Innovation. The MOU included entrusting the TIPA with pilot operation of the K-Bio Lab Hub, which is scheduled to open in 2028, and it outlined support for the establishment of spaces and lab facilities for startups. The pilot project will be operated by creating spaces for eight startups in Yonsei University’s Industry-Academic Cooperation Center by 2027 and providing access to equipment and networking. The tenants will be selected next month after the recruitment is announced this month.
