Arts Center Incheon’s New Year’s Concert

The Joy of a New Year with Beautiful Melodies

To celebrate the new year of 2024, Incheon City has prepared a performance by a famous overseas orchestra.

The Vienna Johann Strauss Orchestra, renowned for playing the music of Johann Strauss II, the “Waltz King,” will visit Korea for a performance in Incheon. 

Be ready to enjoy beautiful waltzes and polkas to complement the coming of a hopeful new year.

Gorgeous Waltz and Polka Melodies

On January 14, Arts Center Incheon will hold a New Year’s concert. Austria’s Vienna Johann Strauss Orchestra will present an outstanding show for the citizens of Incheon. This orchestra is famous for specializing in performing the music of Johann Strauss II, known as the “Waltz King.”

The performance will be conducted by Johannes Wildner, music director of the Austrian festival Oper Burg Gars. The first piece played is the “Overture” to the operetta “The Bat” by Johann Strauss II, followed by various other pieces, including “Tritsch Tratsch Polka,” “Where the Lemons Blossom,” and “The Blue Danube.” The music of Strauss’ younger brothers, Josef and Eduard, as well as his rival Carl Michael Ziehrer and Hungarian composer Franz Lehár, will further delight the audience’s ears. In total, the orchestra will play 12 pieces to produce 100 minutes of blissful music.

This performance will be held at the Arts Center Incheon Concert Hall. The seating for this hall was designed by combining the advantages of the vineyard style and shoebox shape, narrowing the distance between the stage and the audience and maximizing the audience’s immersion in the show. Welcome in the new year with excitement while listening to beautiful melodies.
