Gyeongin Ara Waterway

The first steps of this journey begin along a waterway. Gyeongin Ara Waterway is a canal that connects the Han River to the Yellow Sea in Incheon. This waterway, which runs from Araincheon Passenger Terminal near Yeongjong Bridge to Gimpo Terminal, is lined with walking and cycling trails, making it a perfect place for recreation and outdoor activities. It also offers various attractions, including the Ara Tower Observatory, which provides a panoramic view of the Cheongna area, and Jeongseojin, the best sunset-viewing spot around. National Institute of Biological Resources This is the only institution in Korea that specializes in displaying Korean native biological resources, featuring a diverse collection, including over 6,000 specimens of 1,500 species. It is divided into three exhibition halls (organisms & biological resources) with the Jeju Gotjawal Conservatory Room, the Discovery Room for Kids, and the Outdoor Themed Botanical Garden. First, the three exhibit halls (organisms & biological resources) display a vast array of organisms living on the Korean Peninsula and examples of biological resources in use, allowing visitors to learn about the diversity and importance of living things. Meanwhile, the Jeju Gotjawal Conservatory Room is an indoor greenhouse designed to reproduce Gotjawal, a forest unique to Jejudo Island, where the warm air and freshness of the greenery will give you a wonderful sense of relaxation. The Discovery Room for Kids offers hands-on programs tailored to the needs of children, while the Outdoor Themed Botanical Garden in front of the building exhibition and education area is composed of various plants depending on the taxonomic characteristrics and uses of native plants. It gives you the opportunity to learn about different living plants through direct observation.
