Songdo Central Park

If Songdo’s skyline defines the city by day, Central Park transforms it by night. As the lights reflect across the water, the park becomes a dazzling canvas of reflections against the dark sky.

As Korea’s first seawater-fed urban park, Central Park offers a uniquely refreshing nighttime atmosphere. Along its 1.8-kilometer waterway, illuminated high-rises cast colorful reflections across the tranquil surface, creating a scene reminiscent of a giant outdoor media art.

For those seeking a peaceful escape from the summer heat without leaving the city, few places offer a more memorable evening stroll.

East Boat House (Water Leisure Activities)

For a more memorable night at Central Park, head to the East Boat House and experience the park from the water. Visitors can enjoy a variety of electric-powered boats that glide quietly along the canal, allowing passengers to relax and take in the scenery without the effort of paddling.

Options include Family Boats, Cinderella Boats, Moon Boats, and other uniquely designed vessels, each offering a different way to enjoy Songdo’s nighttime scenery.

Cheongna Lake Park Musical Fountain

While Songdo captivates visitors with its modern skyline, Cheongna Lake Park offers a refreshing retreat surrounded by greenery and open water.

Each summer evening, the park’s signature musical fountain show fills the night with vibrant colors, music, and movement. As the performance begins, water jets stretching 120 meters in length and soaring up to 75 meters high dance in sync with music, while multimedia projections, lasers, and moving lights create a spectacular visual display.

The combination of water, light, and music transforms the park into a lively gathering place where families, friends, and couples can enjoy a relaxing summer evening together.

Cheongnaru Pavilion(青蘿樓)

Another recommended nighttime destination in Cheongna International City is Cheongnaru Pavilion. Known to many as a filming location for the popular drama The Glory, the pavilion takes on a different character after sunset.

Warm lighting illuminates the elegant structure, highlighting its architectural beauty and creating a tranquil atmosphere. For visitors seeking a quieter and more traditional evening experience, Cheongnaru offers an ideal setting.

Yongyu Sky Observatory

On Yeongjong Island, visitors can enjoy sweeping views of the night sea from the Yongyu Sky Observatory, one of the area’s most distinctive landmarks.

Inspired by the shape of a bird’s nest, the cylindrical structure rises prominently against the coastline. Illuminated at night, the observatory resembles both a lighthouse guiding travelers and a beacon welcoming visitors to the island.

At the top, expansive views of Yeongjong’s shoreline unfold in every direction. Across the dark sea, scattered lights twinkle like stars, creating a peaceful and unforgettable nighttime panorama.

Whether visiting with family or a loved one, Yongyu Sky Observatory offers the perfect setting for a memorable summer evening.

Geojampo Beach

If you arrive around sunset, take a short walk to nearby Geojampo Beach, one of the Seoul metropolitan area’s best-known spots for both sunrises and sunsets.

Offshore lies Maedorang Island, famous for its distinctive silhouette that resembles a shark’s fin. As the sun sinks beyond the island and the sky glows red and gold, visitors are treated to one of Yeongjong Island’s most beautiful summer scenes—a fitting beginning to a night by the sea.
