Establishment History
Established in 1993 at the initiative of Korea, it is an intergovernmental environmental cooperation organization of six Northeast Asian countries. Following the Rio Declaration in Brazil during the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) in 1992, the organization was established with the aim of promoting ecological conservation and environmental cooperation in the Northeast Asia region.
