The City of Incheon announced that Incheon Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok visited the Starfield Cheongna construction site in Cheongna International City, Seo-gu on January 13 to inspect the project implementation status.
This on-site inspection was arranged to confirm the overall progress of large-scale private investment projects being promoted within the Incheon Free Economic Zone and to examine whether major processes and related administrative procedures are being implemented according to plan.
Mayor Yoo received briefings on the project overview, implementation status, and future schedules from the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority and Starfield Cheongna Co., Ltd., and toured the construction site.
Starfield Cheongna is scheduled to be developed as a complex space combining a multi-stadium (dome stadium) and a complex shopping facility, and is being promoted as a major private investment project within Cheongna International City.
The multi-stadium will be built as a multiplex space where citizens can enjoy various cultural contents through K-pop and overseas famous artist performances, e-sports international competitions, and various exhibitions, equipped with not only a professional baseball stadium with a capacity of 21,000 seats but also complex cultural viewing facilities.
The project is being promoted step by step through collaboration among related institutions, and construction is underway with the goal of completion by the end of 2027.
The on-site inspection focused on confirming safety management and process management status during construction promotion, as well as cooperation matters among related institutions.
Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok said, “We will continue to inspect and manage necessary administrative matters so that the project can be promoted stably.”
