Songdo Convensia Achieves Record Performance in 2025 as IFEZ Launches Expansion Plan
The Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ) Authority announced that Songdo Convensia recorded its best-ever performance in 2025, achieving record highs in venue utilization, events hosted, and visitor numbers.
Last year, the convention center hosted 1,033 exhibitions and meetings, attracting 1.06 million visitors, while exhibition hall occupancy reached a record 59%. International conferences surged to 196, and foreign visitors increased by 30.3% year on year. The events generated an estimated KRW 581.2 billion in economic impact and supported more than 6,200 jobs.
With venue utilization approaching full capacity, IFEZ will launch a feasibility study this year for the Phase 3 expansion, which will add 14,000 square meters of exhibition space to meet growing demand and further strengthen Songdo's position as a leading international MICE destination.
The project is expected to attract more international exhibitions and conventions, strengthen Songdo's competitiveness as a global MICE hub, and create new opportunities for tourism, local businesses, and regional economic growth.
