IFEZ Nears Groundbreaking for K-Bio Lab Hub, Strengthening Songdo's Global Biotech Ecosystem
The Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ) Authority announced that the K-Bio Lab Hub project in Songdo has completed most administrative procedures and is on track to begin construction in the second half of this year, with completion targeted for 2028.
The national biotech startup support facility will be built on Yonsei University's International Campus, featuring a nine-story building with a total floor area of 20,375 square meters.
Procurement and contractor selection are currently underway following the completion of major design and feasibility reviews.
Once completed, the K-Bio Lab Hub is expected to serve as a key platform for nurturing biotech startups, accelerating technology commercialization, and promoting global collaboration.
Together with Songdo's world-class biopharmaceutical cluster, it will strengthen Korea's innovation ecosystem and enhance the city's competitiveness as a leading global biotechnology hub.
