Songdo's Gyeongwonjae by Walkerhill Retains Five-Star Rating, Reinforcing Korea's Premier Hanok Hotel
Gyeongwonjae by Walkerhill in Songdo has once again earned a five-star hotel rating, maintaining its status as Korea's first five-star traditional hanok hotel, the Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ) Authority announced.
The hotel received the certification after scoring more than 90% in on-site and unannounced inspections conducted by the Korea Tourism Association.
Following a management change in 2025, the property underwent extensive rebranding and service upgrades, including renovated guest facilities, enhanced dining experiences, and premium hospitality services.
IFEZ said the renewed five-star certification highlights Gyeongwonjae's competitiveness as a cultural and tourism landmark.
The hotel is expected to attract more domestic and international visitors while further strengthening Songdo's appeal as a destination where Korea's traditional heritage meets world-class hospitality.
