On Wednesday, October 5, 2011, Celltrion held a completion ceremony for its second plant in Songdo International City. With this completion, Celltrion finalized its second plant with a production capacity of 90,000 liters through an investment of KRW 300 billion (approximately USD 255 million), securing a total biopharmaceutical production capacity of 140,000 liters including the existing 50,000-liter first plant. Celltrion is a company that develops and manufactures antibody biosimilars, and the second plant is scheduled to enter commercial production in 2012 after a trial operation phase.
