On June 20, 2006, the Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ) hosted a civic debate on budget policy for the 2007 budget, hosted by Han Kwang-soo, dean of Incheon National University's Northeast Asian University of Economy and Trade. The debate was held in 2007 with about 50 participants, including Bang Jong-seol, planning director of the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority, and Lee Wang-ki, research director of the Incheon Development Institute.
