(영) Signed mutual cooperation agreement with SK Telecom / On Monday, April 29, 2019, IFEZ signed a mutual cooperation agreement with SK Telecom. With the signing of the agreement, the government will promote the Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFE) startup venturepolis, build up self-driving infrastructure through cooperation between the private and public sectors, and carry out projects to promote 5G-based services and technologies. The startup venturepolis project is a project to open and share smart city infrastructure and data, a strength of Incheon Metropolitan City, and to draw up capital, policy and technical incubation programs for "startup & venture" based on it. Currently, universities in Incheon, including Yonsei University, Incheon University and Inha University, as well as government agencies and private accelerator agencies such as Incheon Technopark, Incheon Center for Creative Economy Innovation and KAIA (Korea Transportation Science and Technology Promotion Agency) are participating. The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority and SK Telecom's project to establish a global leading smart city autonomous driving infrastructure through cooperation between private and public sectors is to first apply ultra-precision electronic map (HD map), 5G, and data hub within IFEZ, while HD map refers to a map dedicated to self-driving cars that provide precise space information at a centimeter level so that self-driving cars can operate safely. It will also establish a data hub that can systematically manage and analyze floating population data in Songdo International City, Cheongna International City and Yeongjong International City.
