On Thursday, June 20, 2019, the production research and development center of OTIS in the United States, the world's largest elevator company, was built in Songdo International City. The R & D center was built on a 15,600 square meter site with four factories and offices. R & D and production facilities, which were dispersed in three areas including Seoul, Incheon and Changwon, were integrated into Songdo International City Office. Otis plans to cultivate the Songdo International Urban Production and R & D Center as an Asia-Pacific research and development hub. IoT Connected Elevator, 'which will enhance the connectivity between people and elevators based on the digital technology of the fourth industrial revolution such as Internet of Objects (IoT), cloud, and Big Data, will be intensively developed.
