On Tuesday, January 21, 2020, IFEZ announced that it had signed a land sale agreement for the construction of the Aekyung Group Advanced Institute of Technology. Aekyung Group's comprehensive technology institute is located on 28,722m2 of the high-tech industrial cluster in Songdo International City (204 Songdo-dong), with a total floor area of 43,000m2 and about 400 researchers. As part of management innovation, Aekyung Group plans to establish a comprehensive technology institute in Songdo and establish a new organization dedicated to research on the basics, sources and future technologies. Through this, the company plans to actively develop advanced materials, secure proprietary technologies, research on environment-friendly and biotechnology, and accelerate the development of new products. In addition, the company plans to deploy 400 R & D personnel, expand facilities, preemptively respond to the EHS (environment, health and safety), and raise it to the world's top research center.
