On May 24, 2021 (Monday), IFEZ signed a "business agreement" with the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology (KIAT) to promote innovation in regulations on free economic zones with seven free economic zones in Korea. The main contents of this agreement are △ Free Economic Zone Authority, which cooperates to check whether local governments have regulations, ease regulations, and strengthen support for demonstrative companies. △ Regulatory sandboxes (exempts and suspends existing regulations for a certain period of time when new products or services are released). In other words, if new technologies and services do not impede the lives and safety of the people, they will be able to demonstrate (exemplify) or market (temporary permit) despite existing laws or regulations. KIAT, a dedicated organization, will work with the Korea Economic Administration to revitalize regulatory innovation by finding demand for regulatory innovation in free economic zones and supporting regulatory sandbox applications for regulatory innovation demand companies.
