On August 11, 2021 (Wednesday), IFEZ signed a contract with Daedong Door Co., Ltd. to build a second plant. HI-LEX, the parent company of Daedong Door Co., Ltd., a foreign investment firm, will invest an additional $10 million in foreign direct investment (FDI) to build a high-tech electronic component manufacturing facility on a site of 6,003.9 square meters in Songdo International City (11-63 Songdo-dong, Yeonsu-gu). Daedong Door Co., Ltd. is a company that specializes in producing door locks, as it was selected as a leading research and development partner of Hyundai Motor Group last year through continuous research and development. Since its establishment in 1946, Japan's Hirex is a global manufacturer that has entered 16 countries worldwide with sales of 2.5 trillion won as of 2019.
