On November 25, 2021 (Thursday), Incheon Metropolitan City Mayor Park Nam-chun and IFEZ Commissioner Lee Won-jae met with the German Satorius presidency. In November 2020, Satorius submitted an investment letter to the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority, focusing on investing $100 million in facilities to manufacture, R&D and build educational facilities for biopharmaceutical materials in Songdo International City. In early November 2021, a memorandum of understanding was signed with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and Incheon Metropolitan City to expand facility investment to $300 million.
