On May 15, 2023 (Monday), IFEZ signed a basic agreement with Blue Core PFV Co., Ltd., the preferred bidder for the Songdo International City June 8 tool development project, at Incheon Metropolitan City Hall. Songdo International City Landmark Construction decided that the simple height and size of the building alone could not serve as a true landmark, and agreed to hold an international design contest as soon as possible after signing the basic agreement. It is expected that the international design contest will be able to derive a plan that meets the most public interest goals, and the opinions of citizens will be actively reflected in the planning process. In addition, the 1.8km street park connecting Songdo Moonlight Festival Park Station on Incheon Metro Line 1 to the coastal theme park was supplemented by creating a theme street that can be used for four seasons, not just an open passage. It also took into account the environment of Korea, which has a lot of snow and rain and has four distinct seasons. In addition, various development plans, including the creation of a theme park, will be discussed.
