On Tuesday, December 22, 2020, the Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ) Authority held the groundbreaking ceremony for Cheongna Sky Bridge (Third Link Bridge). The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun, Incheon Metropolitan City Mayor Park Nam-chun, and Commissioner Lee Won-jae of the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority. In accordance with COVID-19 prevention guidelines, attendance was kept to a minimum, and the event was broadcast live online via YouTube. Cheongna Sky Bridge will connect Jungsan-dong in Yeongjong-gu (formerly Jung-gu) with Cheongna-dong in Seohae-gu (formerly Seo-gu), Incheon Metropolitan City. The bridge will have a total length of 4.67 km, consisting of a 3.5 km sea bridge and a 1.17 km land section. It will be 29–30 meters wide and comprise six traffic lanes. Construction is scheduled for completion in 2025. Among the three bridges connecting Yeongjong International City, Cheongna Sky Bridge will be the only one equipped with pedestrian walkways, bicycle paths, and observation decks. It is expected to become an experiential tourism and cultural destination where visitors can enjoy panoramic views and the unique atmosphere of the sea.
