On Friday, October 14, 2011, the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority held a ceremony commemorating its 8th anniversary. Eight years after its designation, the Incheon Free Economic Zone had surpassed a population of 100,000, and the event presented future visions including the promotion of global business and the bio industry, the development of the waterfront in Songdo International City, and the acceleration of development in Yeongjong International City. The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority is promoting the creation of the Republic of Korea’s global economic hub centered on Songdo International City, Yeongjong International City, and Cheongna International City.
