On Monday, October 24, 2011, Incheon Metropolitan City and the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority (IFEZ) signed an investment agreement with Sinsegae for the construction of a mixed-use shopping mall in Cheongna International City. The agreement was intended to develop a suburban-style mixed-use shopping mall with shopping, cultural, leisure, and entertainment functions in Block 2 of Cheongna International City. Sinsegae planned to invest KRW 300 billion (approximately USD 260 million) in a 165,290-square-meter project, with completion targeted for 2015. Sinsegae is a company primarily engaged in retail business and mixed-use commercial facility development.
