On Monday, March 19, 2012, the State University of New York Korea held its opening ceremony at the Songdo Global University Campus. The opening marked the launch of the first foreign university at the joint international campus being developed in Songdo International City, carrying significance for the creation of a global education hub and the improvement of the living environment for foreign residents. SUNY Korea initially operated master’s and doctoral programs in Technology Management and Computer Science, and the Songdo Global University Campus was developed as an international education cooperation model in which foreign universities share lecture and research buildings, dormitories, and library facilities.
