On Thursday, April 5, 2012, Incheon Metropolitan City and the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority (IFEZ) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Incheon Technopark, Hyundai Department Store, Homeplus, and Daesang Industrial for the development of the Songdo Premium Outlet and mixed-use shopping center. The agreement was intended to support the development of commercial and lodging complex facilities, including a premium outlet, mixed-use shopping mall, hotel, and officetel, through a total investment of KRW 1.2 trillion on an 81,773㎡ site in the business district of the expanded Songdo Technopark complex. Hyundai Department Store planned to invest approximately KRW 1 trillion, Homeplus KRW 120 billion, and Daesang Industrial KRW 80 billion, respectively.
