On Monday, November 19, 2012, Incheon Metropolitan City, the Incheon Metropolitan City Office of Education, the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority, Songdo International City Development Limited, and the POSCO Educational Foundation signed an implementation agreement for the establishment of an autonomous private high school in Songdo International City. This agreement was a follow-up measure that specified the memorandum of understanding signed in 2011 and formally defined the roles of each institution and their areas of cooperation for the establishment and operation of the school. The autonomous private high school was planned on a site of approximately 25,000 square meters in Songdo International City, with advanced educational facilities including classroom buildings, a multipurpose gymnasium, and a cafeteria, and was designed to accommodate 24 classes and 720 students, with the goal of opening in March 2015. Songdo International City Development Limited was responsible for the construction and donation of the school facilities, while the POSCO Educational Foundation was tasked with preparing the school establishment and operation plan and handling the licensing procedures.
