On Tuesday, May 28, 2013, Incheon Metropolitan City and the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority signed an agreement with KOLON Global and KOLON Water & Energy on their move into Songdo International City. The two companies agreed to relocate their headquarters in July 2013 from KOLON Tower in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi-do, to the Songdo Technopark IT Center, and Incheon Metropolitan City and the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority provided institutional support required for the relocation. KOLON Global is a company engaged in trading, construction, renewable energy, information technology solutions, distribution, and healthcare, while KOLON Water & Energy is a specialized water treatment company in the operation and construction of public sewage and wastewater treatment facilities.
