On Friday, April 4, 2014, the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority held a meeting at G-Tower on the development of an integrated resort in Yeongjong International City. The meeting was organized to review the direction of the integrated resort development project and the conditions for attracting investment in Yeongjong International City. Participants discussed plans for creating a large-scale tourism and leisure complex that would include a foreigners-only casino, hotels, convention facilities, shopping areas, and cultural amenities. At the time, integrated resort projects were being promoted mainly in the Incheon International Airport International Business Complex and Midan City within Yeongjong International City, and they were expected to strengthen competitiveness as a Northeast Asian tourism hub and lay the foundation for regional economic revitalization.
