On Tuesday, June 3, 2014, IFEZ signed a win-win cooperation agreement to revitalize the regional construction industry. The agreement was promoted to help ease management difficulties faced by construction companies in Incheon amid a downturn in the construction market and to encourage shared growth between major builders and local firms. The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority worked with private-sector construction companies and construction-related associations involved in projects within IFEZ to prepare cooperation measures, including expanding subcontracting opportunities for local companies, giving priority to locally produced materials, local workforce, and local equipment, and identifying and recommending qualified local firms. The related cooperation framework was set to be expanded continuously.
