On Thursday, July 24, 2014, IFEZ signed an investment agreement with Likehome Co., Ltd. for the construction of a workers’ dormitory for tenant companies. The project involves the development of a dormitory and convenience facilities on an 8,000㎡ site at 207-1, Songdo-dong, in the 5 and 7 Development Area of Songdo International City, with an investment of approximately KRW 75 billion (approximately USD 73 million). The facility will consist of two basement floors, 20 above-ground floors, and about 1,200 rooms. The dormitory is planned to be operated under a master lease system through companies for employees of tenant companies within IFEZ, and the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority expects the agreement to help ease housing difficulties for workers, improve settlement conditions, and strengthen the foundation for attracting more businesses.
