On Monday, September 1, 2014, the University of Utah Asia Campus and Ghent University Global Campus jointly opened at Incheon Global Campus. The opening ceremony was attended by Anne De Paepe, President of Ghent University; David William Pershing, President of the University of Utah; Kwon Pyeong-o, Director General for Trade and Investment at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy; and Lee Jong-cheol, Commissioner of the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority. Ghent University launched undergraduate programs in Molecular Biotechnology, Environmental Technology, and Food Technology, while the University of Utah opened undergraduate programs in Psychology, Communication, and Social Work, along with a graduate program in Public Health. Both campuses offer degree programs equivalent to those of their home universities.
