On Tuesday, October 28, 2014, IFEZ signed a land sale contract with Costco for the construction of a Costco store in Songdo International City. The contract was signed to develop the Costco Incheon store on a 22,514㎡ site in part of Block F8 in the Songdo International Business District, with a three-story building and a total floor area of 30,227㎡. Costco planned to begin a project feasibility review in November 2014, complete all permitting procedures related to construction and business operations by November 2015, start construction in early 2016, and complete the project by the end of 2016. The introduction of the membership-based warehouse retail facility was expected to improve convenience for residents and help revitalize the local economy.
