On Friday, September 30, 2011, the Yeonsu-gu Office of Incheon Metropolitan City opened the Songdo International Children’s Library in Songdo International City. The Songdo International Children’s Library was established as a multi-purpose cultural space for both Korean and foreign children, and it was equipped with children’s materials including English-language books as well as audiovisual experience facilities. The library was created by remodeling the former public relations building of the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority, and it expanded the public library function in Songdo International City, where cultural facilities had been limited, while also serving as a local hub for cultural exchange.
