On Thursday, November 19, 2015, George Mason University Korea held the inauguration ceremony for its first president at its campus in Songdo International City. The inauguration marked an important step in advancing the full-scale operation of the Korean extended campus of a United States university and strengthening the foundation for global higher education cooperation. George Mason University Korea planned to contribute to the development of a global campus environment in Songdo International City by operating undergraduate and graduate programs and expanding international education and research collaboration.
