On Tuesday, December 22, 2015, IFEZ held the groundbreaking ceremony for the Songdo Convensia Phase 2 construction project at the Songdo Convensia site in Songdo International City. The project was designed to expand the existing Phase 1 complex by adding exhibition halls, conference facilities, and commercial space with a total floor area of 64,071 square meters. It was set to move forward under a fast-track method combining detailed design and construction, with completion scheduled for June 2018. Once completed, the expanded venue was expected to accommodate large-scale exhibitions of more than 900 booths, an international conference hall for over 2,000 participants, and a multipurpose plaza, strengthening the competitiveness of the MICE industry in Songdo International City.
