On Thursday, February 18, 2016, Incheon Metropolitan City and the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority (IFEZ) signed an investment agreement with Daedong Door for the construction of an automotive parts production and research facility in Songdo International City. Daedong Door plans to invest KRW 42.6 billion (approximately USD 35.3 million) to build a 30,000-square-meter manufacturing and research facility in the Advanced Industrial Cluster of Songdo International City, with construction scheduled to begin in June 2016 and to be completed in June 2017. Daedong Door is a company that manufactures automotive door latches and plans to promote localization of automatic opening and closing systems and expand production through this investment.
