On Thursday, March 3, 2016, Incheon Metropolitan City and the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority (IFEZ) signed an investment agreement with Osstem Global Co., Ltd. for the construction of pharmaceutical and dental medical device manufacturing, research, and training facilities in Songdo International City. Osstem Global Co., Ltd. plans to invest KRW 185 billion (approximately USD 151 million) in the Advanced Industrial Cluster of Songdo International City by 2019 to establish the related facilities. Osstem Global Co., Ltd. was jointly established by Osstem Implant, the world’s fifth-largest company in the implant sector, and Wada Precision Dental Laboratories of Japan, and plans to expand its manufacturing and research base for dental medical devices.
