On Friday, August 19, 2016, IFEZ held a public-private joint meeting on free economic zones under the chairmanship of Joo Hyung-hwan, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, together with the heads of seven free economic zone authorities across the country. During the meeting, participants agreed on the urgent need to provide domestic companies with incentives similar to those offered to foreign-invested enterprises, including tax benefits and location support, in order to revitalize free economic zones. They also discussed institutional improvements to expand investment attraction and improve the business environment.
