On Friday, September 30, 2016, IFEZ signed a “Memorandum of Understanding on Global Leading Smart City Development and Overseas Export Cooperation” with the Korea Agency for Infrastructure Technology Advancement. The agreement was prepared to strengthen the foundation for smart city technology development, demonstration, and domestic and international expansion. Under the memorandum, the two organizations planned to build a broad cooperation framework covering joint research, seminars, project discovery, promotional marketing and international exchange, and the joint pursuit of overseas projects. The signing was expected to enhance the smart city competitiveness of the Incheon Free Economic Zone, including Songdo International City, and to broaden the foundation for overseas expansion.
