On Thursday, October 13, 2016, the University of Utah Asia Campus and Chung-Ang University opened the “University of Utah Asia Campus–Chung-Ang University Digital Welfare Research Institute,” which they jointly established at Incheon Global Campus. The opening was promoted to expand research on welfare using digital technology and to strengthen the foundation for industry-academia cooperation. The institute was set to study models for applying information technology in the welfare sector and support related education and academic exchange, and it was expected to contribute to expanding international joint research and cultivating professional talent centered on Incheon Global Campus.
