On Wednesday, November 30, 2016, Gachon University Gil Medical Center held the “Groundbreaking Ceremony for Gachon Brain Valley and the Construction Start of Research Building 3” in Songdo International City. The project was launched to advance brain research and the commercialization of ultra-high-resolution magnetic resonance imaging technology. Research Building 3 was planned with a total project cost of KRW 25 billion (approximately USD 21 million), and it was to be built with two basement levels and two above-ground floors, with completion scheduled for 2022. The construction start was expected to contribute to strengthening bio-medical research capacity in Songdo International City and expanding the foundation for advanced medical device research and development.
