On September 27, 2018 (Thursday), Incheon Metropolitan City and the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority (IFEZ) signed an agreement with Incheon International Airport Corporation to reinvest development gains from Incheon International Airport into the Incheon Free Economic Zone. Under the agreement, 10 percent of the airport’s development gains, estimated at KRW 88.1 billion (approximately USD 78.6 million), will be reinvested by 2022 in infrastructure near Yeongjong International City, Yongyu, and Muui. The exact amount of development gains will be recalculated and settled upon project completion in accordance with relevant Free Economic Zone laws and regulations.
