On October 12, 2018 (Friday), Otis broke ground on its R&D Center and Advanced Manufacturing Facility in Songdo International City. Otis, the world’s largest elevator company, plans to build a facility with research and development and production functions on a 15,600-square-meter site in the Knowledge and Information Industry Complex of Songdo International City. The facility is scheduled to be completed in the first half of 2019 and begin full-scale operations thereafter, and it is expected to strengthen advanced elevator technology research and production capabilities while expanding the company’s foundation for responding to domestic and global markets.
