On October 25, 2018 (Thursday), Phase 1 of Songdo Korean American Town was completed and began welcoming residents. First launched in August 2012, the project was promoted as Korea’s first initiative to provide a settlement space for Korean Americans seeking to return to Incheon Jemulpo, the historical departure point of Korean emigration to the Americas. Located in Songdo International City, the Phase 1 complex was built on a 24,800-square-meter site with a total floor area of 166,443.9 square meters, consisting of three 49-story towers above three basement levels, and includes 830 apartment units, 125 officetel units, and 113 commercial spaces.
