On Friday, February 15, 2019, the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority signed a letter of intent with SenseTime of China to establish a global artificial intelligence association in Songdo International City, an artificial intelligence school at Yonsei University International Campus, and a future city research center. Through this agreement, both sides planned to promote cooperation in building an artificial intelligence industry ecosystem, expanding research and education infrastructure, and attracting related companies and talent. SenseTime is a company with core artificial intelligence technologies based on facial recognition software applicable to mobile, automotive, accounting, retail, security, and robotics sectors.
