On Wednesday, July 10, 2019, the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority announced the inauguration of its 6th Commissioner, Lee Won Jae. In his inaugural address, Commissioner Lee Won Jae said he would refine implementation strategies to help the Incheon Free Economic Zone grow further as a global business hub and advanced industry center. He added that the authority would promote investment attraction and corporate attraction in future new industries including bio and healthcare, 5G, artificial intelligence, tourism, leisure, and conventions, while fostering industry-academia-research cooperation and talent development. He also said major projects, including the Cheongna International Business District, Cheongna City Tower, and the Third Yeollyukgyo(bridge) connecting Yeongjong-gu and Seohae-gu, would be carried out without disruption.
