On Tuesday, January 21, 2020, Incheon Metropolitan City and the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority signed a land sale agreement for the construction of the Aekyung Group Integrated Research Institute. The institute will be built on a 28,722㎡ site at Lot 204 in the Advanced Industrial Cluster (B) of Songdo International City, with a total floor area of 43,000㎡ and capacity for about 400 researchers. Aekyung Group plans to begin construction in 2021 and complete the project in the second half of 2022, while establishing a new research organization dedicated to basic, source, and future technologies, and promoting advanced materials development, proprietary technology acquisition, eco-friendly and bio research, and expansion of research and development facilities.
