On Tuesday, May 19, 2020, IFEZ held a meeting on the “Free Economic Zone K-Bio Global Strategy” to strengthen the competitiveness of the bio industry. At the meeting, IFEZ presented its 2030 goals for the bio cluster in Songdo International City: 700 resident companies, 20,000 employees, KRW 15 trillion (approximately USD 12.2 billion) in cumulative investment, and KRW 10 trillion (approximately USD 8.1 billion) in annual sales. It also announced plans to foster the area into a leading K-Bio hub by pursuing three strategic tasks: strengthening the value chain from research to production, expanding innovation infrastructure, and activating a mutually beneficial network based on open innovation.
