On Monday, July 13, 2020, Incheon Metropolitan City and the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority (IFEZ) signed a three-party memorandum of understanding with the Korea Basic Science Institute to attract the Korea Basic Science Institute Metropolitan Integrated Center to Incheon. The Korea Basic Science Institute is a national research infrastructure organization that supports basic science through research facilities, equipment, analytical science technology research and development, and collaborative research. The center will be built in Songdo International City as a major research hub integrating infrastructure for biopharmaceuticals, nanotechnology, and environmental research.
