On Tuesday, November 2, 2021, Lotte held a briefing on the revised development plan for Lotte Mall Songdo at A1 Block of the International Business District in Songdo International City. The project had received a building permit in July 2019 for a total floor area of 228,000 square meters, and the briefing presented a new urban resort-style shopping mall concept reflecting changes in retail trends and post-COVID-19 leisure demand. The plan calls for a 148,000-square-meter retail complex including a premium hall, street mall, and experiential wine store, along with a 21-story resort with about 200 guest rooms, a waterfront plaza, and eco-friendly green space.
