On Wednesday, November 10, 2021, IFEZ held an on-site coordination meeting with the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission regarding the demolition of Dongmak Outpost, an unused military facility. Officials from the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority, the 17th Infantry Division, the Incheon Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries, the Incheon Port Authority, and the Gyeonggi Southern Facilities Group attended the meeting to discuss demolition measures and each agency’s areas of cooperation. The demolition was pursued following a collective civil complaint from residents of Songdo International City, who raised concerns that the long-abandoned outpost was harming the urban landscape and increasing the risk of crime.
