On Monday, May 15, 2023, Incheon Metropolitan City and the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority signed a basic agreement with Bluecore PFV Co., Ltd., the preferred negotiation bidder for the Songdo International City Districts 6 and 8 development project, at Incheon Metropolitan City Hall. Under the agreement, the Songdo International City landmark project will be promoted beyond simple height and scale to reflect stronger public value and symbolism. An international design competition will be launched at an early date to derive the most suitable plan, and citizens’ opinions will also be actively incorporated in the planning process. In addition, the 1.8-kilometer street park linking Songdo Dalbit Chukje Park Station on Incheon Subway Line 1 and the waterfront theme park will be complemented and developed into a themed street that can be used throughout all four seasons.
